ESA's Lower School Chaplain

The Lafayette campus meets daily for chapel, with PreK and Kindergarten students attending only on Mondays and Fridays. As in Cade, each day provides something different, with teachers offering lessons from scripture or from their personal lives. Students work with faculty to prepare presentations on anything ranging from staying in the struggle (the Lower School motto) to following the dress code. Most days include song and end with prayer requests, announcements and the Pledge of Allegiance.

In 2017, ESA welcomed Dr. John Campbell as Lower School Chaplain. "Doc" holds a PhD and MDiv from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelor's from LSU. He has more than 20 years of experience as a teacher and a pastor. Lower Schoolers were excited to learn that Doc is married with three children, has a motorcycle named "Roxanne," and loves sunsets.
