Day of Service
Seventh graders sorted and packaged 9,538 lbs of sweet potatoes at Second Harvest, and cleaned up the grounds and planted flowers at Solomon House and Iberia Boys and Girls Club as part of the annual Day of Service. Through cross-curricular links to local and national hunger rates, students have had the opportunity throughout the year to study different views of the challenges of food scarcity. The day of service connects their studies to organizations in the community working to make a difference, and gives ESA students the chance to help!
