Cross Country State Champs
Boys and Girls Cross Country brought home ESA's 86th and 87th State titles! The boys' team won its sixth State championship in a row, and senior Oliver Nickel won his second individual cross country State championship in a row, followed by Christian Herpin, 4th place; Tate Broussard, 10th; Charlie Blanchard, 11th; Ian Waskom, 12th; Greer Hernandez, 16th; and Adam Sabbaghian, 19th. ESA's top five runners scored just 39 points for the team win (points are calculated by adding the team's top five places, so lower is better). An average time of 17:50 puts ESA boys in second place in the All-State competition, which ranks all teams competing in Classes C, B, 1A, and 2A. ESA girls won their fourth State Championship in five years. They put five runners in the top ten and scored only 28 points to win the title. Running for the Falcons: Aline Malek, 2nd place; Ellianna DesOrmeaux, 4th; Briley Herpin, 5th; Taylor Guillotte, 8th; Ava Grace Hebert, 9th; Minnie Blanchard, 20th; and Ellie Bollich, 28th. The girls also placed second in the All-State competition, with an average time of 20:37. They ranked 6th across all classes - C through 5A - and were selected as a top ten team in the coaches' poll. Congratulations, Falcons!
