ESA’s 2020 Poetry Out Loud competition was held in chapel in Cade in January. In the fall during their English classes, upper school students memorized and recited poems as part of a program created by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation. Ariana Felton, ’23, placed second, while Charles Blem, ’23, and Tori Wilson, ’22, tied for first. Last year, Tori placed second in ESA’s competition and third in the regional contest held at the Acadiana Center for the Arts. In the regional, held on February 1st, ESA swept the top three, with Tori placing first, Ariana second, and Charles third. Tori went on to place third in the state competition.
