Cardboard Boat Launch
For the 19th annual Physical Science Refrigerator Boat Regatta, freshmen used cardboard appliance boxes, caulk, duct tape, plastic ties, paint and a couple of weeks of work to craft a boat designed to carry at least one passenger through a course at Spanish Lake, and to allow the paddler to pick a pumpkin or watermelon up out of the water along the way. They also predicted the draft when loaded according to Archimedes' Principle. View the video here. Nice work, Class of 2024!
