Courir des Faucons

The Lafayette Campus celebrated Mardi Gras with gumbo, dancing, and games! Madame Harriet and Ms. O led PK3 and third grade students along the Lafayette Campus walkways to beg for food from other classes in the spirit of a prairie Mardi Gras run (courir). When they received the food (boxed and canned goods to donate to Solomon House), the students celebrated with dancing and cheering. After the courir, all classes rotated between stations where they ate chicken and sausage gumbo prepared by Lafayette Campus head of maintenance Mr. John Cormier or vegan gumbo made by kindergarten teacher Julie Miller, played traditional games, and practiced their Cajun dance steps. Thanks to guests Chris Stafford and Cedric Watson for playing music for dancing!
