Micah Nicholas, '13

Micah Nicholas, '13, Executive Director at American Red Cross of Louisiana, was named one of Lafayette's most powerful people. Micah attended Sewanee, where he majored in psychology. After graduation, he moved back to Louisiana and began work with the Boys & Girls Clubs. He became the Granberry Unit Director and Program and Training Coordinator of the Boys & Girls Club of Acadiana, and was named the 2020 Area Council Professional of the Year for Louisiana. Through his work as Director of Impact with United Way of Acadiana, he identified community issues and worked with nonprofit organizations to improve the lives of individuals across five parishes. Today with American Red Cross, he is leading community resilience and humanitarian efforts.

Micah (right) returned to Cade to give the Senior Chapel he never gave as a student. At ESA, Micah learned to push himself when things aren’t easy. “ESA teaches you to be comfortable with being uncomfortable,” he says.
