Class of 2036

In their first STEM challenge of the year, PK4 students created boats designed to hold aquarium rocks without sinking. Teacher Kristy Hargrave gave them a choice of materials: tin foil, wax paper, straws, or wooden sticks. The students weren't given instructions. Instead they were given the materials and the opportunity to test their designs again and again. The project challenged them to be persistent, to make adjustments to their prototypes after testing, and to be willing to start over or do what was needed to make their designs better. One boat held over 300 aquarium rocks before sinking!
