ESA Boys' Swimming Ties for 2nd in State
ESA Boys' Swimming tied for Runner-Up at the 2017 LHSAA State Swim Meet. The girls' team placed 6th at the meet held at the SPAR Aquatic Center in Sulphur. Individual top three finishes: Michael dela Rosa, 3rd in the 200 IM; Isabella Sabbaghian, 3rd in the 100 butterfly; Elena Alvarado, 3rd in the 100 breast; Lazar Papp, 3rd in the 50 free; Isabella Buttaci, 3rd in the 500 free; the boys' relay team of Lazar Papp, Michael dela Rosa, Ryan Rhoades and Dylan Fowler, 2nd in the 200 medley. Individual State Champions: Isabella Buttaci, 1st in the 100 breast; Michael dela Rosa, 1st in the 100 breast; and the boys' relay team of Daxton Fowler, Lazar Papp, Michael dela Rosa and Ryan Rhoades, 1st in the 200 free. Setting school records were: the boys' 200 medley relay, the boys' 200 free relay, Isabella Sabbaghian in the 200 free, and Isabella Buttaci in the 500 free and the 100 breast.
