Teacher Jenny Melanson Honored by University of Chicago and Sam Hebert, '17

Social studies teacher Jenny Melanson has been selected as a University of Chicago Outstanding Educator Award winner! In nominating Ms. Melanson, Sam Hebert, '17, a freshman at the University of Chicago, wrote, "I am constantly in awe of your educational efficiency and efficacy and have immense respect for what you do at ESA... You have high expectations for all of your students, regardless of background, and are an exceedingly compassionate and driven instructor capable of bringing out the best in your students. You consistently push even the most unmotivated students to unprecedented levels of success in your history classes, and for that reason and many more truly embody what I believe to be the hallmarks of an excellent educator. Thanks for everything, even 8th grade." Thank you for the wonderful tribute, Sam!
