National Language Contests
 
National Spanish Exam
The Spanish teachers at ESA administer the National Spanish Exam each year.  The exams are the largest of their kind in the United States with over 150,000 students participating in 2018. This exam measures proficiency of students at their particular level of Spanish. It is not offered in the 6th grade. The National Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese recognize 3 levels of outstanding achievement: Bronze, Silver and Gold.

National French Contest
The National French Contest, known as “Le Grand Concours,” is an exam and competition that serves to recognize outstanding French students across the country.  Students compete at the state and national level. Like the Spanish students, French students earn GOLD, SILVER, and BRONZE recognition.
