Design Foundations

It is a course designed to build visual fluency in the elements and principles of design, as well as offer students the opportunity to experience the limitless possibilities of our studios, and the media available for exploring visual expression.  

Educational Opportunities in Design Foundations:
  • Fluency in visual language using elements and principles of design
  • Foundational applications in 2D and 3D design
  • Exposure to a variety of media which include: ebony, charcoal, pastel, acrylic paint, paper construction, mixed media construction, 3D modeling and printing
  • Introduction to Adobe software and the modeling software used in upper school visual art courses.
