Dr. Stuart Cornwell, US Math

Dr. Stuart Cornwell joined the ESA math department in 1995. A 1981 graduate of Baylor University, he earned an M.A. in 1983, and a Ph.D. in 1990, both from the University of Southern California and both in the field of philosophy. Now Dr. C runs the math department, and teaches Honors Geometry, AP Statistics, AP Calc BC and AP Economics. He has also led ESA's varsity tennis teams to six boys' and five girls' state championships. A collegiate player at Baylor, Coach Cornwell keeps in shape through adult USTA leagues in Acadiana and through hours spent on the ESA courts leading players through drills and competition.

What I love most about teaching at ESA is the intellectual challenge and participating in the intellectual and emotional lives of my colleagues and students.
