ESA Teacher Chosen for Shakespeare Folger Workshop

English teacher Missy Gates was delighted to be working with 400-year-old folios as one of thirty teachers in the nation chosen for the Shakespeare Folger Institute’s Weekend Intensive in Washington, DC. Pictured here with a first folio of Shakespeare from 1623, Mrs. Gates read aloud to her group from a 1599 quarto of "Hamlet." The attendees studied the Folger method of teaching Shakespeare. After performing on the Folger stage, they compared the differences between quarto and folio text and what they commonly teach today. An amazing opportunity for Mrs. Gates and ESA!
