Learning Center Summer

ESA Lower School Learning Center Summer Reading and Writing Program

A three-week program designed for K-3 students who:
  • experience difficulty with reading, writing, and spelling.
  • may have a diagnosed learning difference that affects reading and writing.
  • need specialized instruction to prevent regression in reading and writing performance that occurs without daily practice.
 
Monday-Thursday
9:00am-12:00pm
June 10-28, 2019
$1,200 per student 

Depending on each student’s individual needs, The Learning Center’s summer program offers:
  • Systematic and direct instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, spelling, sight words, vocabulary and reading comprehension strategies
  • Practice in applying these skills in reading and writing
  • Fluency training
  • Enriched language experiences
 
Instructors are certified teachers at the Episcopal School of Acadiana who are trained in The Learning Center’s Orton-Gillingham based approach in teaching language skills.
