Sharing Cultures

ESA welcomed the Tibetan Monks of Drepung Gomang Monastery in Southern India. The monks were in residence on ESA’s Lafayette Campus for five days, and created a sand mandala, an ancient Tibetan tradition signifying impermanence, non-attachment, compassion and wisdom. The visitors taught meditation, and performed snow lion dancing, Tibetan debating and other ceremonial chants.
