Sharing ESA

In 2019, when he was a fourth grader at ESA, Phillip “Poppa” Dauterive III was killed in an automobile accident. His family created the Phillip Dauterive III Foundation in his memory, with the mission to support the children of the local community and their families. One way they are doing that is with an annual scholarship donation to ESA: “The Phillip Poppa Dauterive III Scholarship was established in memory of one our most dynamic students, Phillip Dauterive, affectionately known to all as Poppa. He was a bright light to all who knew him and a shining example of positivity and playfulness. He loved football and singing and his friends, and he loved ESA. His family has established this scholarship fund to assist minority students with tuition and other expenses associated with being an ESA student. These scholarship funds ensure that others will have the opportunity to be part of this community that meant so much to Phillip, his sister and brother and cousins who have attended this school. The generosity of the Dauterive family will create ripples of excellence that will move out into the world, and Phillip’s spirit will continue to have the amazing positive effect that he had in life.” We’re grateful to the Dauterive family for sharing Phillip’s joy and spirit with other ESA families!
