Artists Honors

ESA students have been honored with three of the top five awards in the Louisiana Next-Gen juried high school art exhibition. Nine Louisiana schools submitted pieces to the show hosted by UL Lafayette's Department of Visual Arts. Lilly LaFleur's stoneware and mixed media piece called "The Old Lie" (shown above) took second place and a $300 prize. Piper Leger's silver gelatin print a of digital negative, "Phantom," earned third place and a $200 prize, and Tyler Chen's stoneware and wire piece, "Sunny Side Up," earned Honorable Mention and a $50 prize. Congratulations to all of the ESA artists with artwork in the exhibition, which is open to the public in Fletcher Hall Gallery on the UL Lafayette campus through October 2nd.
