Middle School Performing Arts
Middle School students are exposed to the performing arts through electives in music and theatre, with the goal of expanding the student's comfort zone and creativity.
Class work in theatre includes improvisation skills, theatre terminology, scene work, playwrighting and play adaptation (such as student-written adaptations of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow"), and reader's theatre.
Sixth and seventh grade students take General Music for one quarter. In the eighth grade, students have the option of enrolling in Music for one semester. Middle schoolers are also welcome to participate in the spring musical.
