Career Day 2021
This week, our Alumni Feature focuses on Charles Malespin, '98, who joined our science panel for Career Day 2021. The Chief of the Planetary Environments Lab at NASA, Charles leads the Sample Analysis at Mars (SAM) testbed, a duplicate of the instrument currently operating on the Mars Science Lab rover Curiosity in the Gale Crater on Mars. Charles' team conducts development, testing, and validation of experimental procedures using the SAM testbed before the technology is used on Mars. He holds degrees in Astrophysics, Physics, and Applied Physics, and worked as a NASA intern while in grad school.
