“ESA shaped me into a disciplined and resilient person. It built my confidence, work ethic, and ability to push through challenges, which continue to guide me in my personal and professional life,” Kailie Williams,’19, told us. Kailie earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Wiley College in Marshal, Texas, in 2023. She continued her education in the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, and graduated in 2025.
Today, Kailie is a Registered Nurse working on the cardiac unit at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center, where she cares for patients and continues to grow her clinical expertise. Looking ahead, she plans to return to school to become a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) specializing in cardiac care.
During her time at Wiley College, Kailie also took on a significant leadership role, serving as Miss National UNCF (2022–2023). In this position, she represented students on a national level, advocating for the mission of the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) and promoting educational opportunities for students at historically Black colleges and universities.
Kailie credits ESA with preparing her for both the academic rigor and the personal growth required for her journey.
“ESA built a strong academic foundation while sharpening my time management, critical thinking, and discipline, especially as a student athlete balancing both academics and sports,” she shared. “It pushed me to take ownership of my learning and goals, helping me move forward with confidence and a clearer sense of direction.”
To future Falcons, Kailie offers this encouragement: “Embrace the challenges because that’s where the growth really happens. Stay consistent, believe in yourself even on the hard days, and make the most of every moment at ESA.”
Thanks, Kailie!
