In PK3, teachers Milissa Ross and Pam Monteleone began the year by introducing students to hygiene and the study of germs. As the children learned through listening to books and experimenting in their classroom, they asked questions that prompted a trip to see science teacher Beverly Burgin in her science lab (above), where she introduced the students to new ways to look at germs. After completing the research, each child created a germ out of yarn, felt shapes, and googly eyes, then shared something about the germ with a teacher. Their work is on display near the library in the Enrichment Center.
