Natasha Manuel Mattappally, '05

Natasha Manuel Mattappally, ‘05, graduated from Tulane University and from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. She practiced law for five years, representing plaintiffs in legal proceedings, before opening a clothing boutique in New Orleans, and pursuing a masters’ degree in elementary education at Grand Canyon University. Natasha currently teaches 5th and 6th-grade reading at St Pius X Catholic School in New Orleans.

“ESA prepared me for the workload and academic responsibilities I faced going forward,” Natasha told us. “It definitely sparked my interest and love for reading and writing. During my years of practicing law and now in education, I have used the writing and analytical reading skills I learned at ESA on a daily basis. My reading and writing teachers at ESA provided me with a valuable foundation, and I often think about the techniques those particular teachers used when teaching reading as I instruct my own students.”

Natasha’s advice for our Falcons: “Take your time to figure out what you really want to do. Explore your options, and don’t be scared to start again if you need to. You may find your passion in the process.”

Thanks for sharing your journey as a life-long learner, Natasha!
