Michael Ryan McCarron, '10

Michael Ryan McCarron, ’10, graduated from UL Lafayette in petroleum engineering, and in 2017, moved to Midland, TX, where he worked for Halliburton in the Permian Basin. In 2019, he married his college sweetheart at Our Lady of Wisdom Church in Lafayette, and together they moved to The Woodlands, TX. While in the Houston area, Michael Ryan worked in several industries, including in the pump and barge field and in the technology field. Eventually, he returned to the oil and gas industry on the software and tech side as the leader of the product management team in the emissions division of Champion X.

In March of this year, Michael Ryan took advantage of the opportunity to move back to Lafayette to work for Stuller, a company he said he has admired since his time at ESA. He joined their Project Management and Digital IT department.

“Be authentically you, be brave, be curious and take the opportunities that come your way,” Michael Ryan encourages our Falcons. “ESA prepared me for the journey through the experiences that taught me to think outside the box, to explore what is possible, to ask questions, to be a leader, and to do good in the community. I continue to use the values that I learned at my time at ESA, and they have proved more valuable to me now than I would have known back then.”

Michael Ryan and his wife have traveled around the world over the years, from within the continental US to Costa Rica, Lebanon, where his wife's family is from, and Europe. He and his wife welcomed a baby girl, Maya, in March of 2025, and he looks forward to traveling as a family.

Michael Ryan adds, “I am excited to pour into the community that shaped me and to be back in my hometown. I have big plans to help grow the community and to find a solution to people’s problems, and I hope I can make a difference. I am also excited that now my wife and daughter will also get to see how ESA can shape the future of our city, our state, and our country.”

Thanks, Michael Ryan!
