ESA Middle Schoolers Attend Youth Legislature

The students who attended the Youth Legislature program in Baton Rouge last week brought home several honors. A bill about bienniel boat inspections sponsored by Lily Oullet and Lucy John made it out of committee, passed through the Senate and the House, and was signed into law. Anil Cacodcar's bill on education reform was signed into law as well. Lily, Lucy, Anil, and Amelia Leroux received Hall of Fame recognition voted by the teachers of the all the schools present. Other honors included: Sergeant-at-Arms: Senate--Adam Gombos; House--Harrison Hugonin; Secretary of DOTD and Health and Welfare--Jeanne Myers; bill sponsors who debated their bills: Atley Troxclair, Lily, Lucy, Anil, and Stella Levy; committee members and those who spoke in favor of or against bills in their respective chambers: Allison Aucoin, Evie Lecky, Chaz Dyer.
